The Great British Bread Off!
 
This week, Coppetts Wood have had D.T. week, where Sixties Class focussed on BREAD MAKING!

We started the week by tasting four different types of bread: ciabatta, naan, bagels and tortilla bread. We discussed the texture, the differences in how they are made and the ingredients. This meant that we were able to think carefully about what kind of bread we wanted to make for breakfast on Thursday morning, and the process of doing so. 

The next day, we planned our process and were put into groups of 6 to learn the skill of kneading and accurate measuring. Using a recipe, we followed the instructions to carefully add in all of the ingredients and knead and shape our dough. We left it to prove overnight and baked it the next morning, ready for our breakfast.

Below are some photos of the process. We noticed that some breads turned out well, yet others didn't. We thought about why this was the case and how we might improve next time.
