World Book Day poets!

06 Mar 2015

This week in Woodpecker Room, the children have been writing poetry! They have used all the work from our topic to inspire them and they have created some amazing poetry!

Look out for similies, alliteration and even onamatopoeia!!

Our Blitz Poems:-

Boom,
There are buildings crashing down.
Smokey,
The buildings were smokey.
How long did the bombs drop for?

Astonished,
Everyone was astonished.
Terrified,
The children were as terrified as a scared cat.
Where are your parents?

Isolated,
The poor children were alone.
Destroyed,
The houses were as broken as glass.
How did the hurt man get injured?

Boom!
The rubble was smoking.
Crash!
The bricks were falling.
Who got injured?

Crack!
The man is as cold as a polar bear.
Terrifying!
The girls were worried.
How did the houses get bombed?

Smokey!
Broken glass everywhere.
Sad boy,
No houses in the street.
Where are your parents?

Salas

Frightened,
The homes were destroyed.
Claustrophobic,
The houses were rubble.
How many people were injured?

Blasted,
The men were helping the injured people.
Petrified,
The children were so terrified.
How long did the bombs drop for?

Smelly,
The children were frightened of the destroyed homes.
Stinky,
Many people were injured.
Where did the people hide?
