Family Support

Family Support and Outreach
Outreach is a service available for parents/carers with children aged between 0-5 years that may need additional support within their community.  Staff will work in partnership with parents/carers and relevant agencies to improve outcomes for their children and the whole family.  The service is tailored to meet the individual needs of young children and their families.

The outreach/family support team can:

Work with vulnerable families who may have a history or current concerns with regard to domestic violence, substance misuse, mental health etc.

Identify patterns of adult behaviour that may be a cause for concern and work with the parents/carers to identify strategies that support positive change.

Offer support for parents in recognising and meeting their children’s needs.

Undertake a CAF, be a lead professional and arrange a CAF review.

We use techniques from both the Solihull approach, Share Plus, Family Links and Incredible Years relevant to working with different families depending on their needs.

Form a professional relationship with families in order to build trust in order to support them in making positive progress for the whole family.
